Too funny. My wife and I were discussing this several months ago when the "bad news" was that the deficit was likely to be $8 billion. Between us we agreed that the reality was that the deficit was more likely going to be at least $16 billion by the time the new fiscal year rolled around and the unbalanced state budget was introduced.

Now I ask you. How do two old, washed-up and retired legislative analysts who now live 2,000 miles away have more insight and accuracy than the Governor, Director of Finance and 120 members of the overpaid Legislature.

Simple! Take the early forecast of the likely results of the Governor's probable May Revision (commonly known as the May Revise) and double them. We've never known it to fail. This year is no exception.

One thing about governmental projections of budget shortfalls you can always double it and be close to the effective outcome.

It's OK. Raise my taxes. I don't care. I'm not moving.

I'm going to move from here because my taxes might go up a couple hundred bucks a year?

Only if I get to carry because I would alienate everyone. Even my own mother would shun me.

Silly Charles. What good is happiness being where you are? You need to freak out and slash your throat if not run to a better state, like, oh maybe Nebraska, at the very least. Where's your sense of propriety?

Are you sure that's not supposed to be "sense of PROPERTY," stolen from the natives, of course?

Oops! Wrong thread. My bad.
