Lot's of people don't like the beach. There are tons of folks in CA that never go to the beach even though it's a hour away or less. I'm one
. I know others in SoCal.

You can get THREE nice big houses in Summerlin for the price of one here in most of OC or LA. Irvine is located adjacent to an apartment-filled, crime ridden ghetto named Santa Ana, so whats your point? I can easily see why people would choose to move to Summerlin or somewhere like Scottsdale, AZ and buying a huge house all while saving massive amounts of money over living in OC or LA.

I've lived in LA, the I.E., Chicago, Palo Alto, Silicon Valley, and now Las Vegas.
Las Vegas has world-class entertainment, more Celebrity Chef Restaurants per-capita than any place else on the planet, great outdoors activities, an active retiree population -- heck, you can go snow skiing and water skiing on the same day if you want.
It is a fantastic place to live. And the best thing: it is not in California.
