Yes, I'm aware. Laws in many places extend beyond that. I still stand by what I said.

I'm sorry for your loss. I think its important to honor your father's request. My dad wanted the same thing. He was a lifeguard at one point in his lifetime. So the LA Baywatch performed the scattering just past the surf as we held a small service on the shoreline. This was ~ 20 years ago. I guess the laws have changed some since then. But I tend to agree with the others. I would like the same thing when my time comes. Off of a seaside cliff would be a good possiblity as well. There are many nice ones in Big Sur.

Here's another company I found that will do it if interested: Ashes on the Sea | Burial at Sea, Funeral & Cremation Services for San Diego, CA.

Did hear about the man who wanted his ashes scattered at Walmart? Yep, that way his wife would visit him several times a week.
