Do you really, truly believe that?

You really believe it is part of law enforcement training to enforce laws specifically to increase revenue? Has nothing to do the actual law being broken?

Peace*

Impounding a car is actually a huge PITA, and has an officer tied up for extra time, waiting for tow, with a pissed off offender in the back of his car. My point was, the chances of other citable/impoundable offences is heightened when pulling over for expired reg, so the recent 22651 alterations don't really mean much. You can use other 22651vc's to impound if you want, if there are other laws being broken, other than just expired reg.
What about abandoned vehicles?

There was a time where my city was the dumping ground for abandoned vehicles... this changed as the price of scrap increased.

What I don't understand is the neighboring city where I work... more than a month ago, I reported several vehicles with no plates/expired tags on public streets and one on a boarded up restaurant that was foreclosed on.

I followed up with a personal visit to the police station to make the report again.

A couple of weeks went by and I again contacted the police and was informed none of the vehicles comes back stolen...

So over the course of five plus weeks, these vehicles are slowly being stripped or used for dumping trash in the case of the back of the pick-up or used for sleeping...

Steel prices are still very high so I can't understand why it isn't in the interest of law enforcement to have these derelict eyesores removed from a major thoroughfare?
