Right now I'm leaning towards Chico/Dixon or New Mexico. Thank you again!
So if you're looking for a cheap place, are you one of the random odd uneducated liberals?

This chart tells it like it is.

Are Liberals More Educated Than Conservatives? (2012 Election Update) | Reflections of a Rational Republican

The high percentage of minorities without a high school education in California (the majority race in California is just over 50% with high school or higher) are a strong indicator of why California is so Democratic in their voting.

Thank you

Interesting...
Article talks about high and low of the spectrum.. so to say.. and I quote " to say that liberals are more intelligent than conservatives is simplistic"

I appreciate the link

As to the original poster

Redding is not where you want to be.. very conservative by the numbers... vastly changed in the last year (because of the drug influx) and Im not sure where it will fall in the next election cycle.. but for now.. very conservative

Yep. Conservatives had to drop out of high school to work minimum wage jobs to pay off their accumulated petty crime fines, while the liberals went to college and went on to professional careers.

Not according to statistics.

Remember the lowest educated are the most apt to vote for Democrats.

Are Liberals More Educated Than Conservatives? (2012 Election Update) | Reflections of a Rational Republican

The other group that votes for Democrats, are those with Doctorates, and a large percentage of them teach in Colleges, preaching their liberal view.

63% of low income vote Liberal/Democrat and only 36% of high income vote Liberal/Democrat, until you reach the Billionaire class and Hollywood actors who vote heavily Liberal/Democrat.

I'd be very careful about using numbers and statistics too casually and without context.

Beware of the correlation = causation fallacy as an explanation for minorities leaning Democratic. They weren't always like that, and if you're talking about Latinos in particular, a lot of them are quite culturally conservative/traditional. So are many Asians and African Americans.

A better explanation for minorities leaning or going heavily Democratic in California over the last decade is the California GOP's radicalization & tactics of using wedge/cultural issues for political gain, starting with Governor Pete Wilson's 1994 reelection bid. Wilson, generally considered to be a moderate up to that point, was facing a tough reelection fight with Kathleen Brown (sister of the current governor Brown) challenging him, and used the immigration issue (around Prop 187) to win, which alienated many Latinos. It's been downhill for the California GOP ever since.

Also, voter turnout is generally highly correlated with income and educational levels. So perhaps low income people of color may lean Democratic, but their voter turnout % is generally lower than that, say of high income whites.

Another thing - one can be very well educated, but be wrong and ignorant.

Look at Representative Louie Gohmert of Texas. The guy went to Texas A&M, has a law degree, and was a judge.

Yet he says stuff a lot that is absolutely off the wall and just plain ignorant and stupid.

Yes, because inner cities everywhere are full of educated professionals.
