Default Riverbank

I'm looking for feedback on Riverbank, California. I heard the crime in Modesto is off the chart in Central California. I have an opportunity to move back. Any thoughts on Riverbank...? I haven't been back to the Modesto area for 20 years..I know things have changed in 2 decades. Is it a good environment for a family...? Thank for any and all feedback.

I answered in your Modesto thread. Riverbank is in a nice spot overlooking the Stanislaus River, but the town isn't as nice as Oakdale, the schools aren't as good and there are gangs to contend with - just like South Modesto. Basically, give it a pass if you have kids.

I'd pick Escalon, Ripon or Oakdale over Riverbank.

the only good thing about riverbank is the Galaxy theater and the Crossroads shopping center. That about sums it up. Keep going 10 minutes east to Oakdale. The newest development was the "crossroads" talk about vomit in my mouth. Elementary schools are the Slyvan school district, but than you get hosed with Riverbank High School.

If you can afford it. but its not actually an incorporated city.

The public schools in the cities I mentioned are going to be better than Modesto. Ripon, Escalon and Oakdale in that order. Obviously you can check the performance stats online.
