The lone wolf who dares to speak here.

I identify as a Californian first then American and only because that's logical. Truthfully, the rest of America is mostly a different place to me. A place I've not lived and a place that seems to hate me for being Californian in general at least. I don't hate America, I just don't identify with it.

Expect the attacks in 3...2...1...

I identify as an American.

I've chosen to live in California, and at this point, I suppose it's somewhat fair to go ahead and refer to myself as a Californian: I have lived here for a total of about nine years, which is a larger chunk of my 28 years than I've spent anywhere else.

But, that's just it... I've lived all over the US, on or near military bases with my family. My perception of America has been shaped by living in and all over America, and I've taken bits of it with me everywhere I go.

If another country attacked Texas or Alabama or New York or Michigan or Colorado or Florida or wherever else they chose to attack, they'd have attacked my country, and attacked me. Whenever I read any of those mocking and spiteful comments on CD or other websites about how if California got attacked they wouldn't help, I feel disgusted in the same way that I feel when I hear someone here talk about how they don't care what happens to the rest of the US. We're all in this together, we are ALL Americans, and to suggest otherwise is misguided at best.

I'm an American by implication and not a Californian. I don't identify with most of this state, especially the more rural, backwards, and Conservative places. I don't identify with silicon valley either.
Basically an outcast.

Id think you'd find lots of people from different parts of the county that feel the same as you. Guess you have more in common with those religious rednecks flying Dixie than you thought.

I identify first as an American because I've always lived here in California. If I moved elsewhere and had to listen to a lot of California bashing, I'd probably identify myself as a Californian. Everything is relative!
