I am new to this forum and have been poking around here trying to do some research before making an offer on a house down in AG.

What do I need to know about potential water supply problems down there? I have seen a few references here and I have checked the one of the water district sites, but I don't get a good feel for the problems, other than there is, or will be, water rationing.

Thanks for any quick updates you can offer, or help in looking in the right direction.

You can call the city (or county if the house is outside the city limits) water/utility department to inquire about these issues.

I live in AG. Are you looking to buy a house connected to municipal water supply or property on a well? If on muni water there isn't really a ration/restriction aside from pricing tiers.

My family and I live in an average house in town and our water/sewer bill from the city is $170 every two months. About $70 of that is a Lopez Lake dam fee which never seems to go away.

We are looking at houses on muni water, AG on the mesa. The water bills I've seen at potential properties don't seem too bad, even for half-acre lots with grass, roses, etc. Thanks for your feedback!

There is no rationing per se, the expense of the water serves as a ration., there is a limit to development based on available water. There are water use restrictions which no one seems to pay attention to. The town is about maxed out on available water.
