The idea expressed several times above, that the Republicans like Bush thought there were WMD, then why did Clinton (a Democrat) say after the war started that he (the Democrat President) had the same data to make a decision from as Bush, had after reviewing this data thought there were WMD. The data had been gathered by the countries intelligence agencies while Clinton was in office, and was left for Bush to use in making decisions.

But wild liberals only see that Bush thought there were WMD problems, and refuse to accept the fact that the previous Democrat president had the same information and thought the same thing.

The big problem in this country is, that too many people are way left or way right, and think that everyone else is way out of the loop. It is this partisan thinking that is tearing the country apart.

Above some say that a study should be made to find out why the companies are fleeing California, and the higher income people are on their way out. It is already known.

A good example was in the Wall Street Journal a few months ago. A company in LA, wanted to double it's size. They did a study and found out that it would take 18 months or longer to get all the permits they needed to expand. There were something like 43 agencies involved, and would cost something like $1.5 Million for all the permits involved including cost for attorneys, etc., to put it through.

They checked on Tulsa Ok, and found they could get the permits in 2 weeks, with someone from the city assigned to get them through the process. It only cost $15,000 for all the permits. (A lot of difference). They found they could build brand new plant for 50% of what it would cost to expand in California and then sold the old plant to cover the cost of the new plant.

Cost of living was something like 40% less, so the employees that wanted to move getting the same salary could live a lot better from their wages.

They ended up with a brand new and more efficient plant, at no actual cost after the old one was sold nearly tripling the production, in a much lower cost to do business area, and on top of that cut their tax bills in half. The operation in Tulsa was to the same environmental and other standards as it would have been in California.

That is why companies are fleeing California. California is driving them out of the state. And this problem is accelerating. That is why there are billboards in California, all types of ads telling companies that when they get tired of the California problems, come to other states where they will be treated right and save a lot of money.

If they raise prices to be able to stay in California the competition from other places will drive them out of business as they will have priced themselves out of business. It has just gotten so costly and with such high taxes, it is easier and cheaper to move to other states than stay in California. It makes business economic sense, to open a business in other states than California.

When you drive out high paid jobs and the taxes the companies would pay, when you drive out higher income people (including well paid workers) and the income taxes etc., they would pay, you have the problem that California is starting to face, NOT ENOUGH TAXES COMING IN TO PAY FOR WHAT THEY HAVE PROMISED THE PEOPLE IN THE STATE. Cities are going bankrupt, and the State is in serious trouble. Today's news says that the state had counted on hundreds of millions from those that made fortunes when Facebook went public, and now with Facebook stock going south they will only get a portion of those taxes, and it will be a serious blow to the state's finances.

Fact: The average Democrat (averaging all registered Democrats) has long ago been shown to have a lower education and intelligence than the average Republican (averaging all registered Republicans). When some on this thread keep saying the Democrats are better educated than Republicans they have long ago been shown to be wrong.

Democrats overall have been declining:

Democrats More Liberal, Less White Than in 2008

A big exception is California. A big reason, is California is only just over 40% white population, with non whites (almost automatic Democrats) while national average is 72%. Republican population is dropping, as lower income immigrants, etc. replace them. More people needing the state services to survive, and less people able to support the tax system available to pay for it.

This must account for the state with the most universities having the lowest percentage of Republicans.

New York, California, Massachusetts etc all known for having some of the best universities in the country if not the World. But of course the Conservative argument will be "but professors indoctrinate them to be liberal"....

Yes, because the liberal/socialists have such a hold on things. Let's see: Vallejo, Stockton, San Bernadino, and Mammoth Lakes. ALL filed for bankruptcy. MANY cities and counties are to follow.

Yes, lets live the life of "riley." Make love, not war. Peace, love, understanding. Power to the people. Worker's Rights. Take care of the "people." The people first. Give to welfare, after all, Kalifornia is one state which you can walk across the border and IMMEDIATELY obtain welfare benefits. Medical. Medicaire isn't enough. Kalifornia can provide more for its people.

Have as many children was you want. No one cares. The PEOPLE will take care of you. Let's let this socialism plan go and see where it goes. Socialism is Kalifornia and, it is failing. Failing miserably. Kalifornia is the first Greece in the United States. ALL because of its socialist platform and thinking.

This state was ONCE a beautiful state. It is, in so far as natural beauty. However, its idealism, its false sense of "we can do it better then others," and "we are better then others," is its downfall. When alot of the state doesn't pay a dime and gets billions in social services, you are doomed to fail. When every illegal alien gets whatever they want, you are doomed to fail. Kalifornia and its liberal policies is its downfall.

I still do not see why/how people don't see this? Europe is failing, due to its social policies. Kalifornia has replicated these European policies and its failing. What? You need a brick to fall on your head?

Socialism fails, because in the end, you run out of other peoples money to spend...

There are liberals in this country and there are socialists. Most liberals are capitalists who believe in strong social programs. Liberals and socialists, in this country, will sometimes share similar viewpoints and at times have opposing viewpoints. Liberal is a mind set, socialism is a form of government. It's like saying is conservatism the same as senile dementia. Two different things

Because most things are seen by them as black or white. Their opinion vs everything else. Do not expect too much from people who cannot see beyond there own narrow view of the world.

This must account for the state with the most universities having the lowest percentage of Republicans.
It also has the lowest percentage of White People, and far more minority race people than the other states which will vote Democratic. As the state has made this switch in demographics, it has also made the switch more and more to the Democrats. It also has some of the most Liberal professors in the nation in those universities.

California has a problem getting enough workers with bachelors degree or higher, and this will get worse in the future. And note the influx from other countries and other states with bachelors degrees is lower than the ones from California leaving the state and taking their degree with them. California has a lot of universities as stated by a previous poster, but due to the trends they are leaving California in large numbers.

A Lack of College-Educated Workers (PPIC Commentary)

California is #1 of all states, foreign born with limited English proficiency.

California is #2 of all states, for percentage of foreign born over 5 years old for Limited English Proficient population.

California is only state with 25% plus foreign born population.

Only about half the California population speak only English, and only 23.9% speak it very well according to the Census Bureau.

California is 38th out of 51 (states and DC) for foreign born with bachelors degree or higher.

My families came on both sides to California in the 1860s, and I was born and raised there and raised my family until their older years in the Silicon Valley, so I do understand California.

I have watched the change for 80 years, and seen how it has changed up close and personal over the years. It has gone from a very prosperous state, to what it is rapidly becoming with serious problems in the schools where they are laying people off, cutting classes, and overcrowding. Where the tax income is so short, they are having trouble meeting budgets, and cutting programs. From a state where companies wanted to move to California, to one that are losing its companies, and good jobs. Some keep a corporate office in California and their major employment in another state. A state where there were lots of jobs, to a state with the 49th highest unemployment rate in the nation.

To be honest, the more Democratic the state has become, the worst things have gotten and the more problems the state is facing. It is the Democrats that have controlled the state during this slide downwards.

You seem to have accepted liberal as normal, I commend you for your realization.

You created your own definition of what I said, not what I said, I divided the world into two parts, conservative and normal, it has nothing to do with agreeing or disagreeing, it does have to do with psychology.
.
Well since I am not liberal, socialist, conservative, etc, I chose to simply carry YOUR thought forward. Yes Conservatives can show those "fears" as can Liberals, etc. It was a meaningless statement on your part and I just wanted to expand on the meaninglessness of it.

The Psychology you used would best be described as "Pop Psychology".

To help you.

Some Conservatives are not normal
Some Liberals are not normal
Some Libertarians are not normal

Some Conservatives are normal
Some liberals are normal
Some Libertarians are normal.

Now that is accurate. Try it some time.

Don't rain on their parade. American Liberal/Socialists are better, smarter, wiser, etc than the others so they won't fail where the others have. Well that is what they seem to think.
