I see why people would want it when we have people like Holmes running around. but I think too many innocent people are put on death row and that it is more expensive than putting them in jail for life without the possibility of parole.

I agree with Conservatives on some things like less wasteful spending and being responsible. that's about it though.
she only wanted you to answer so she could try to rip it apart. isn't worth bothering with! and then you have the biggest waste of money with the wars, as you said earlier.

I fail to see how reducing the population of this state could be a negative.

The number of businesses leaving almost exactly equals the number of businesses moving into the state. There simply is no great excedus as has been proven in many threads here before. Also the folks leaving the state almost all fall into one of two categories 1) retirees cashing out their homes to move some where cheap for retirement or 2) lower middle class people with very low paying jobs who cannot afford the cost of living in a very desirable area in high demand.

Neither of those groups (retired people or poor people) are especially economically productive. That's just the facts, son, even if you don't like them.

They vote that way because they have been raised and/or indoctrinated to believe that socialism works. This in spite of the horrible failures of this flawed system nationwide in general and California in particular. Democrats believe that just because things are going well for them personally that all is well with the world. This selfish myopic head-in-the-sand attitude will cost them dearly not far in the future.

Mostly socialist positions with a few libertarian ones.

California is one of only a handful of states still trying to stay moderately liberal.
The GOP is pretty much where it was during the Goldwater era. If anything, it has moved too far to the center, and this has caused them problems. In the meantime, the far left has seized virtual control of the Democratic Party and has taken it and nation far to the left. "Progressive" is a cover word for Marxist, and the progressive or left wing of the Democratic Party is now the de facto New Communist Party, the NeoComs. And yes, Barack Obama is viewed by many conservatives as being the second coming of Vladimir Lenin. As for California, to imply that it is center left is laughable. The Peoples Socialist Republic of Kommiefornia is what it is referred to sarcastically in some right wing circles.

Neither do we. We believe in true free market non governmental interference capitalism. We are just as critical and distrustful of "Crony Capitalism", market manipulations, and controling monopolies as are those critics on the left. However, unlike the left, we do not see big business in general as the main culprit, we view big government as the main problem. Worse still is when big govenrment and certain segments of big business ally themselves to the detriment of the nation's citizens, ie, Crony Capitalism. We endorse true laissez faire free market capitalism. This is the system that made America great and brought prosperity to it's citizens.

LOL, nice try. Not really. Cal's population continues to grow, and even the national economy has wobbly growth but read the business journals or Google the key words, the message is the same: Businesses are leaving, and not just disinvesting, they are re-investing elsewhere. In reality, we both know the "facts" pops, and they aren't in California's favor. And neither is the "trend"

BTW another big city filed for bankruptcy protection today, or did you miss that fact also?

Cheers.
