This winter I'll be moving from the tri state area to northern California.

We don't care where you're from until you start in with the "Oh, so-and-so is so much better back home" and "Oh, we do so-and-so this way back home."

And we already know you won't like the pizza here, depending on what part of the East Coast you're from.

No, I hate it here, exactly why I'm moving. When I stayed at my friend's studio for awhile in OC I loved it. Hopefully I'll get used to west coast cuisine quickly.

Then you'll do just fine, but OC isn't N. Calif, as you'll quickly hear from the Northerners.

Very much welcoming. Just realize somethings will be different and sometimes that's ok.

The funny part is west coast people will go to the east coast and do the same thing. Oh, and most east coast pizza isn't as good in my mind. I guess it depends on what you grew up with as to what you think is "the best" but for me it is definitely California style pizza done in a wood oven. The pizzas are usually smaller, with a very thin crust, and fewer but better quality ingredients always cooked in a wood fired oven (California coastal live oak wood is preferred just like with a proper Santa Maria style BBQ). It's more of a sipping on wine pizza than a chugging beer pizza.

People are people no matter where they go. But transplanted Californians back East are the Easterners' problem, not mine.

I've had DiFara's and Totonno's in NYC, and while they were very decent pies, I'm not going to get religious about them. I grew up with Shakey's and Round Table, and they're both good enough for me.

Don't care. I can never tell if someone's from the east coast, the south, or the north unless they put on a strong accent from that native geographic location.
