Texans in the California fora, like moths to a flame. They can't stay away. Check out post #7 here.

Please note what the OP is looking for, and this Texas yayhoo suggested Austin. THAT'S what highnlite is getting at.

Have no doubt Austin is a very fine town... But the point IS the whale/healthy vibrant, living, ocean... Not kayaking ..:smack.

This is getting funny..

Did I say that.... What is it? What part about healthy living vibrant part do you not get!.... HELLLOOOO In order to have most of the big whales one needs to have a healthy ecosystem... Yes?????

The Gulf of Mexico which boarders Texas, but not Austin, is quite sick, between oil spills, and the growing dead zone, it is turning into a dead hot pool of water.... It is dead or dying....A sick eco system, due to environmental policy that gives you tax free shopping a couple times a year....

Oh ... Ok ... I got, let me triple my cost of living so I can have a healthy eco system for a whale.

Hows the pollution and smog, doesn't California usually Dominate the list

Texas Lake Finder Map

Caddo Lake is found in East Texas and along (and into) the State of Louisiana.
All other lakes are either the work of the Army Corps of Engineers.
While the Corps may think it is god, god doesn't agree.

.
West Texas is scenic, and does have hills. Interesting that few Texans seem to visit the west part of their state.

There is more to life than taxes in Texas (say that aloud, cute eh?)

There are 645 miles of low coast in Texas, as I recollect there are no natural harbors, no bluffs, no cliffs, no surf crashing into rocks, and no whales.

Take a look at this video, except for the hills, the pier, the boats, the ocean, the pelicans, the whales, this could be Austin

Apparently. A question could be, if Texas is so all fired great, why are they on the California Forum? Shouldn't they be out enjoying the natural wonders of Texas? All four of them.

Not really... there are 2 different states with different goods and bads. Ever notice it's usually CA people who start these threads ? CA is a fantastically beautiful state and we have much in common.

We also have similar problems with budgets, illegal immigration, crime, etc. We are more alike than different. I'd love to see CA get their act together on spending but the whole nation has it's doubts on where you guys are headed. You economically are representative of the US Govt and that worries many people.
