Nice, I have been to this beach and it is lovely and usually secluded! Close by the Diablo Canyon Power Plant.

Shamu's cute, but can't compare to seeing a big Baleen whale. When I lived in Monterey I'd see them a short distance offshore as I'd take my daily walk on the recreation trail next to the bay.

California is indeed an Amazing place...It's even kinda odd to think we have volcanoes in this state too.

Back when I used to toot about CA mucho, I would tell people that if it is found in another state, it is found in CA, from Tornadoes to Swamps, Volcanos to deserts.

Pretty funny when the best one can say about Texas is that their taxes are 3% lower than in CA, and sometimes they get a tax free weekend, but no one goes shopping.

Meanwhile, take a look at the sailboats, and the folks in the kayaks. I should imagine that they figure spending 3% more in taxes and getting to watch whales close up is a good trade.

Note the nice concrete pier in the background, that belongs to all the people of California, some of what our taxes get for us, it is a research pier for Cal Poly.
