Honestly, to the ppl that are constantly complaining and whining about California, get a grip!
It's the most beautiful of the states. There's so much to offer. Nowhere is perfect, I get it. . . but California is Awesome! Srsly, it's beter than any other state in all aspects. I love it. Stop complaining and enjoy it. U could be stuckin Gary, Indiana or something.

I'm no California hater, just very sad to see a state with so many resources being run so horribly. FYI, some of us grew up in California and remember what it used to be like. We're all for progress but something has gone terribly wrong in California and the quality of life isn't what it used to be and not what it can be. Those facts are undeniable. In fact, things seem to be headed in the wrong direction on many levels.

I'll be moving up to Seattle but not because I hate CA. I think CA is great and don't rule out a return. However, everything I like about CA comes from mother nature. None of it comes from Sacramento. That seems to be the opinion of a lot of people here who like CA. Maybe some are here for the politics. I'll go out on a limb and say that if CA had the same weather and Geography of TX, we truly would see it empty....except for the few people here for the politics.

But in general I agree. I never realized so many people studied drama until I read some of these "I'm leaving" threads.

The funny thing is almost none of the haters actually live in California. They are battling an imaginary place which exists only in their own minds. In short, they're loonies.

California is a sort of petri dish for various social and economic experiments currently under way. I think many out-of-staters participate in the discussion out of a little poli-scientific interest in the results of these experiments. Similar to how many of us non-Coloradans will excitedly observe the implementation of that state's newly-passed marijuana initiative (which I support and happen to think will be successful). No need to attack them for this, we're all in the same country at the end of the day.

"Remember, comrades, your resolution must never falter. No argument must lead you astray. Never listen when they tell you that the rich and the poor have a common interest, that the prosperity of the one is the prosperity of the others. It is all lies. The rich serve the interests of no creatures except themselves. And among us low and middle classes let there be perfect unity, perfect comradeship in the struggle. All wealthy men are enemies, and the rest of us comrades."

Exactly! But deny it they will rather than do anything to change it back. Therefore they'll just continue to circle the drain with it.

Really? I live in Kalifornia and have for 48 yrs (in two weeks, make it 49 years). Yet, I'm a "hater." Once again, this term "hater" is being bantered around. I don't hate Kalifornia. I love it. I fought for it. However, the liberal/socialist agenda of this state has ruined it. Its gone WAY to far to the left in its wants for "the people."

California is floundering and near bankruptcy. The only thing which will change that is a MASSIVE tax increase (Yes, I know everyone there is no mechanism in place for a state to file bankruptcy; however, Congress has already entertained the idea of instituting a law allowing it). If the state can't file bankruptcy, it will find some way to default on it obligations, one way or the other.

Yes, Kalifornia has wonderful beauty. Great mountains. Beautiful beaches. Yet, what good is all that if you cannot afford to live here? And/or the costs involved make not a good place too live. Do you realize that is what is happening now? People who have a tad bit of money are already moving to other states, because their dollar will go further.

Kalifornia:

16 BILLION dollar in the hole (most real economists say its more closer to 30 million)
11% unemployment rate (again, the actual number is really much higher)
One of the highest forclosure rates in the country
The POOREST credit rating in the nation

Oh yes, this state just has so much going for it. Gee. Can't wait for it all to come out. Sometime. Soon. Maybe. Perhaps.

These kinds of polarizing threads do not tend to evoke the best of analytical, rational debate. As irritating as the California bashers are, the OP here seems like he's just trying to stick a finger in their eye. So hyperbole, resentment, and over-wrought language will continue to dominate. It's amazing how people can get so emotional about their state and/or city in one direction or the other. Need an example? Just check out the post right before mine.

Im not a Cali hater, Im a Victorville, Adelanto and generally a High Desert Hater. But I digress, The liberal, Socialist, freak show progressive loons have swung this state so far to the left. Its no longer the great state of California. Its a damn shame to see such a great state flushed down the tubes with poor leadership and corruption, and the great give away of everything we, I hold dear.

Not sure where to start but, Schools, Illegals, taxes, traffic, crime, gangs, welfare.......
