Another thing Californians can be proud of: With Aaron Rodgers' appearance in Super Bowl 45, Cal became the school that's sent the most quarterbacks to the NFL's biggest game. Can anyone name the other three Cal QBs who went?

Go Bears!

Great question.

Joe Kapp
Craig Morton
Does Vince Ferragamo count since he transferred to and subsequently graduated from Nebraska?

Well I'm counting him since that's the only way we make no. 1. He did play every game as a freshman and sophomore at Cal but pretty much had to leave as a junior since he had Steve Bartkowski and the much beloved and late Joe Roth to contend with for the starting spot.

Default Cal cutting Mens Baseball

With such a great Sports program Cal has had over the years its going to be very sad to see them kill off one of the best men's college baseball programs in the country.

That really seems bizarre that the state's flagship university would cut a major sport like that. It's also strange though that there isn't an alumni network that could have raised the funds to save it, especially considering it's one of the few sports where some of the grads went on to make money from it professionally. The aquatics program was able to round up some affluent former swimmers and water polo players to fund it so it doesn't suffer the same fate, knock on wood.

Well its not over yet but many of their players are already transfering or looking to transfer to other Universities.

A friends son who has a scholarship to Cal for Mens Baseball has already signed with a Unversity out of state. Sad I won't be able to go see his baseball games.

I believe it comes down to waste and corruption that has invaded California's World Class State and UC system like a cancer.

It's too bad the Pac 10 conference can't enforce some type of rule that requires schools to compete in all sports in order to compete in any.

Good idea. But again this is Berzerkly we are talking about. I find it interesting they are the only Pac Ten School to drop the Men's Baseball program.

One of the most Prestigious Universities in the World?

More like the politics of PC than anything else. Gotta love Title IX.

I apologize for steering your thread away from the OP.

Considering my brother in law's college in New Mexico, one of the poorest in that state, still funds their baseball program.
