I was just reading that story! HAHA!

I agree that more should be done. People who know of scammers and don't report them are only hurting themselves in the long run.

throwing her crutches into a car and running in high heels to meet her boyfriend at a public park, where she took part in a sex act that doctors concluded she couldn't have done with an injured ankle
I'm just one of those that needs a visual or more explicit description than "a sex act".

Doubt if any mere bystander "reported" her.

Many workers comp insurance companies follow claimants around for months before and after a claim. They try to catch fraud. They do, and often. They are billion dollar companies and private detective work is cheap to them.

A co-worker suspected her and turned her in.

This came right from the link I posted..."A co-worker suspected she was exaggerating and alerted the district, which advised investigators."

So if you think you have a scamming co-worker or neighbor...do this state a favor and report them.

I stand corrected! (The other part about them spying on claimants was accurate.)

One of the previous highlights of my former days as a Corporate Investigator was busting employees committing work comp fraud. That and catching executives stealing.

This is one of the conditions where I stand firmly on the side of the snitches.
