Then again, there is the fact that the off the coast of Humboldt County lies the 'triple junction' where earthquake faults meet, one of them the San Andreas Fault. The whole of the County's coastal area, including Arcata, is a tsunami inundation zone.

The whole County's population since 1960---more than 50 years---has only increased by about 29,000. There is a reason for growing marijuana. There is nothing else that is growing up there

Freezing your tukus off to get the morning paper in MARCH is not my idea of "ideal climate". But there are about two months in summer where it is pretty close to perfect. Do not move here if you have special medical needs or if you have a special -needs child. Services are sparse and the doctor shortage here is getting worse. Unemployment shows at 10% but I think it's higher, and salaries are low. So you've been warned and if you decide to come anyway, welcome.

The only people I've ever heard complain about the cold winters are SoCal transplants. People, it's called NORTHERN California for a reason! It's northern, so it's colder in the winter. If you don't like it, stay in SoCal, or move to Arizona.

LOL freezing...
Try Northern Wisconsin...-25F windchill yesterday morning... 3 feet of ice on the lakes and several feet of snow, no sign of melting....

Freezing your tukus off..

For those of us that melt above 80 it is an ideal climate, perfect for outdoor work!.... (40F to 60F, with 30F being cool and 70F being warm...)

Ahhh... Silk and Wool...

80's been feeling a little warm here recently.

But about August I will be dreaming of 80.
