Is there anywhere free to park by the Getty Center?

The Getty Center is pretty isolated (surrounded by hills) and I don't recall any parking close by. Seems to be one of those situations where you must park in their lot. You may also want to consider pubic transportation.

Considering that admission is free, I'd consider the $15 for parking to be a donation. But yeah, like everything else in LA, you can get there by public transit if you're tenacious. Public Transportation (Visit the Getty)

Parking at the Getty is free... if you ride your bicycle there.

$15 is not that bad for a world class museum. Everybody in the car gets in for free after parking! I highly recommend just parking there or taking Metro Rapid 761 Bus.

The only parking option for free that I know of is not safe IMO for walkers. The sidewalk along Sepulveda is not well maintained and disappears at times due to large overgrown bushes, forcing you onto a VERY busy street. It is not worth your life.

Shouldn't this be on the L.A. forum?
