Re-locating from Chicago to Paradise area very soon. We will be staying with the mother-in-law up in Yankee Hill temporarily. I NEED internet to find and apply for jobs. Could anyone tell me if there is access in the area of Yankee Hill? What works? Should I go with a Mobile hot spot? I can always drive into town and use the library or wi-fi, but would prefer to check from "home". I would appreciate and NEED your input.

I'm responding although the post is not fresh, because others may be interested. SBCglobal provides satellite based internet and is very fast -- as long as you don't go over the data cap. Digital Path is the most commonly used provider, and is microwave based. We do gripe about how slow it is after 7pm, and how Digital Path has over-sold themselves without having adequate infrastructure for the number of folks who want to avoid SBCGlobal. On the other hand, they ARE here. They are almost always up and running, fine for web browsing, not good for streaming (Netflix is great sometimes, "buffering" with multiple stops and starts other times). This is as of April 2016.
