He went back to the rear plate and showed me that the plates were just stuck together very tightly. Said that happens a lot. Said to just put the front on, but didn't write me a ticket. Of course I never did put the plate on.
HA! I hear ya. I thought that too. Double and triple checked to make sure they weren't stuck together but nope. It's not a common occurrence but over the years, I've talk to two other people who had the same thing happen to them. If I was ever given a verbal warning, I'd do the same as you. Promise to put it on but never do it. I love living on the edge. hehe

Yah, just as a warning to the Bay Area folks here, Oakland Airport Police/parking enforcement scours the airport parking lots (short term and long term parking) for this very violation among others (like cracked lights and windshields). Its easy money for them, I guess? I don't know how that really works since its just a fix it ticket, but they must make something from it, somehow.

$25.00 a pop adds up big time. I remember way back then when fix it tickets were 0 dollars & then it jumped to 10.00 & in 2009 it more then doubled to $25.00. The govt wants your money & will do just about anything to get it.
