Well at least the people on "handouts" in our state produce something, unlike the numerous layabouts in California that produce nothing, but the need for more taxes.

Actually, no they don't. North Dakota receives far more in federal taxes than it sends every year and contributes very little to our nation's GDP. Surpass San Jose in population and maybe I'll take that "red hot" state seriously.

The next time you think about world hunger thank a farmer and support farm subsidies. We produce commodities for the world market. California liberals are a special breed that can't think beyond their own zip codes.

So keep giving money to layabouts who want noting more than nice weather during the weekly hike to the mailbox. The last time I looked California was setting all kinds of records for poverty.

Exactly.

What good is growth if the of 75-125 grand a year middle class is slowly being replaced by much lower wager earners.

For example. If one family leaves with 90K annual income and is replaced by two families with 40K annual income, the population increases, but overall wealth decreases. Plus there is a higher demand on services with less revenue on a per capita basis.

One of the reasons for California's economic turnaround was the reduction in home prices. It allowed productive young families to stay, rather than seek opportunity elsewhere. The current run up in real estate prices will likely restart the trend of younger educated families leaving in order to have a standard of living they seek. Hopefully prices slow, stop, or reverse before that is the case.

Rapidly increasing real estate costs make no one richer unless they cash out and leave. It rewards entrenched incumbents (usually older) at the expense of the young.

Fracked oil from shale that poisons your state? Oh. But you mean wheat. You know, the "food" that makes people fatter than anything else. right. You do know that California feeds most of the nation most of its fruit and vegetables and nuts? You know, the nutritious healthy stuff.

It tends to be mostly young couples with limited education or the elderly who leave while young educated single people and well to do married couples are the ones moving in. Thanks, but I think we'll do just fine in that deal.

The welfare rate in California is actually exceptionally low which you'd know if you knew anything about the subject. I created a thread on the topic which you may want to read if you're remotely interested in facts and reality.

Welfare in the US: Just the facts.

A key graph which you should pay close attention to since you're spewing nonsense:

Rank #1 has the fewest welfare recipients per capita while rank #50 has the most welfare recipients per capita.
