Question California college towns

Is there any information about college towns in California...what are their names, quality of life, and cost of living? Are they decent places to live for African-American males in their late 20's? Also, what are job prospects in these cities?

All of the college towns in CA that actually "feel" like college towns are very expensive. They also have a good quality of life (in my opinion.) Job prospects are impossible to generalize, especially for entry level, since those jobs rely heavily on college major, grades, networking, experience, etc.

There are a lot of towns in CA with colleges, but only a select few of those are really "college towns." From north to south, try:

Arcata: Humboldt State
Davis: UC Davis
Chico: Chico State
Berkeley: California
San Luis Obispo: Cal Poly (Cal State System)
Santa Barbara/Isla Vista: UC Santa Barbara

When you get into Southern CA, they stop feeling like college towns. (More like commuter campuses)
