Here's a good start: Lake Tahoe - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
If you need something beyond that, you'll need to be more specific.

thinkin about going there, cuz of the snow, and snowboarding is something that is drawing me there as well, wat is the job outlook in this area? I am 18 and only have a HS diploma but am really willing to do any type of work, is it true that storms come off the pacific and literally dump 4-5 feet of snow in a matter of a day??

I lived in South Lake Tahoe for a few years, back in 1997-99... it is absolutely breathtaking, and I really loved being there. But unfortunately the job and school situation aren't great (or weren't), so I had to move back down the hill to civilization. If you don't mind working in the hotel/hospitality & recreation industries, there should be plenty of jobs for you there! If you're looking for something more professional or specialized, it might not be the best place to start.
As for the snow, it can be very inconsistent from year to year. They had a drought for nearly 10 years (in the 80s), which left the place dry as a bone... then El Nino hit while I was living there, and yes, we often saw a 4-5+ foot dumping in a day! There were times I'd park my car - a Jeep GRAND Cherokee - in the parking lot at work, and it would be completely buried by quitting time. So while it's very unpredictable, you do have to be prepared for some heavy snowfall.

I say go for it. You are only 18. You will kick yourself later down the road if you don't do it. There is a community college there, so you can get started at that.
I went up there during a storm once. The snow was coming down as hard as rain. It was crazy.
A quick look on Craigslist found several apartments for under $800 a month. Get some friends together or find a roomate out there and do it. Its Gods country out there.

Need Roomate for Beautiful Tahoe Donner Condo (broken link)
Studio South Lake Tahoe ( Perfect for one) (broken link)
LARGE STUDIO w/ ALL UTILITIES INCLUDED (broken link)
1BR - Cute Park Model Cabin/Trailer (broken link)
You need to be a ski/snowboard instructor at the mountain or work at a hotel. That's really the only possible thing for a person to do there.
