te=warm heatherette;3094161] Which would likely be the better location at that time of year - Mammoth or Tahoe?[/quote]

They are both outstanding world class places. Tahoe has more variety - may be able to find the best place in Tahoe for a Spring Day. Check the internet or phone for conditions. If it is like you wrote - there's a lot of snow, then you'll easily ski in April (I think Mammoth closes on July 4th on good years.)

If I had to pick one place to ski I'd pick Squaw Valley. It is a very great place to ski but also, it is significant as it held the Olympics in 1960. You can't go wrong: Mammoth, Alpine Meadows, Squaw, Heavenly (which may be a little soft and wet in Spring as I recall, Sierra Cement skiing).

warm heatherette is on a distinguished road
Thanks Charles - I've made note of the locations & I get my husband to choose.

Any advice, anyone, on Death Valley vs. Sequoia. Where would extra time be best spent?

I've never been to Death Valley but April would be the time to go (due to heat otherwise).

Sequoia is beautiful. The Kern River, Tule River, Rock Slides, Camping, the drive from Kernville up through Roads End, Johnsondale, Elephant Knob, Quaking Aspen, through route 190 to Springville is stunning.
