I don't want to co-exist with people who think we have no responsibility for the health and welfare of either people or the environment. I wish some of you would read books on basic science and on ethics (beside the Bible), but that's not going to happen anytime soon, so why not self-segregate into a state or region of your own, and dirty things up there?

I've seen that commercial with the woman at the grocery saying she's smart enough to shop without gov't assistance. That commercial deals with the labeling of GMO foods. The commercial is disingenuous, IMO. The state isn't trying to tell the person what to buy, but simply trying to make sure the consumer is better informed by mandating full disclosure of the ingredients in the food products. This allows the consumer to make a more informed choice - but the choice is still with the consumer. If you have a problem with regulations on foo labeling and product safety, go a bit of research into what life was like before these regulations came along. Upton Sinclair's "The Jungle" is a good place to start.

Because you know so much about me and my beliefs.

Since you think health care should be paid for feel free to pay for my next doctors visit. Just tell me where to have the bill sent. Also, driving a Prius doesn't make mother natures best friend. I wonder how much fossil fuel you burn hearing your house in the winter? You should move to a more temperate climate, because you are destroying the earth heating your house during the winter in Shasta.

It saddens me that you have such disdain for those you do not understand.

I am not free to purchase certain kitchen and bathroom fixtures because they've been banned by the Green Gestapo.

Smaller the population, the fewer services required

Speaking of disdain and not understanding others ...

I didn't realize it was an ad for GMO. Thanks. When it comes on, I usually tune out. I'll have to be more attentive next time.

I hear that! I've tried to buy a few things from businesses outside the state but am told they cannot ship to California because of Proposition 65.

It is easier to attack the person than to actually discuss the problems facing CA. You are addressing a problem and the response was an attack on you based on .... well not knowing you for sure, so general bigotry?

True, but that won't cause spending to drop. Not in CA. Just fewer people to pay what is already mandated.

"It has the strictest gun control laws in the country, prohibiting open carry and making concealed carry almost impossible, banning several types of weapons, imposing waiting periods on all firearms purchases, and onerously regulating dealers and ammunition."

Could someone please clarify this for me? How does one obtain a CCW permit in California? Is it difficult? Is is even possible? I'm very confused.
