Well, then the good news is, if those who participate in this are said to be nuts, and we have deduced that most are not from CA, then we can surmise that there do, in fact, exist people from CA that are not nuts. Which would come as a shock to quite a few people (i.e. C-D posters) who rain hate down on our fair state as the Land of Fruits and Nuts.

I encourage the fruits and nuts aura hoping it will keep the Bible Belters away.

It is quite effective in that fashion, so for that we encourage its use.

land of fruit and nuts n. California. Editorial Note: A reference to both the agricultural bounty of California and the stereotypical image of Californians as being other than normal, fruit n., ‘a crazy person’ and nuts adj., ‘crazy.’ Usually jocular but sometimes derogatory. Please, we both know what a Bible Belter means when they apply the term "fruit."

I drove through Death Valley on Monday coming from Las Vegas and it took me 2 hours getting through there

Obviously you can't drive 50-60mph with all that activity. It cleared up just before the sand dune area around Stovepipe Wells but the damage was done.

Not an activity associated with performance enhancing substances, or at least I hope not. These athletes need to know their base level and constantly need to know how much exertion/toll is taken.

I used to aggressively mountain bike in the Mojave at 2400 feet and hike at lower elevations all day / year long. I had a learning curve for carb intake vs water intake to avoid cramps. I hope these nuts have put in their hours in proper training.
