I don't live in Chico, but I'm only a few miles away.
Chico is a nice city. Lots of trees and it has one of the largest parks in the US. Chico is growing, and you have most of the big name shopping available to you. Chico also has a nice "old town" feeling in the central part of the city.
Lots of things to do since it is a college town, and there is a lot of history here too.
Housing prices have dropped a bit in the past months....good for buyers!
Gas is usually a little cheaper that most other places in the state...still outrageous though.
Lots of agriculture in and around the area.
I think you'd like it here.
