The NOAA's state of the climate report shows Fresno as the warmest city in the US. Sacramento was 10th warmest.

Mehhh I dunno about that. Fresno is hotter than Vegas? Seattle is hotter than Sacramento? Something is off.

Phoenix has to be the hottest city, no contest. I've never been anywhere else that's 100° in the middle of the night

Wait I got it. Its the warmest as departures from averages. So each city is both relative to itself as well as in relation to the departures other cities show but not necessarily in absolute numbers

I don't have a clue where those figures really came from but it appears the computer screwed up or someone is playing around: Fresno is Hot, Sac can be as well, but what about not only Vegas, but Laughlin, Phoenix, and death Valley or Needles? All you have to do is read the weather daily and look at the hottest and coolest places to know this is way off!!!!

The data is for Average Temperature Anomalies from Jan. to July 2013, not daily temperature.
