Post Living in the Cloverdalle, Healdsburg Area

We are contemplating a move to Sonoma County from central Ohio. We would be bringing two horses and wonder about boarding opportunities and the social climate in the area for active retired people. We also hike, bike, rock climb, and fly.

Can anyone advise us about this potential change?

Great climate, lots to do. Bring lots of home equity...lots. In Sonoma County, $1,000,000 will get you into a nice 3br, 2ba home with a decent yard, but barely. You might think that some of these smaller towns up north would be more affordable. Think again. This is prime wine growing county and real estate prices are nuts.

Default regarding horse boarding

Hi Marie, I also am planning to move to Northern Cal and want to be in an area good for trail riding and horse friendly. I'm considering that same area around Santa Rosa and north and have found a really good website with loads of info. It's the Bay Area Equestrian Network (but encompasses much more than the Bay Area) at bayequestdotcom. There is a link under the business directory for boarding facilities.
