People are jealous. They are getting a little smarter though, now they veil their posts as "I'm a 20-40 something, making 90k a year and want to move to (some city in CA) but are the rents there as crazy as I've heard and I want great schools, clean streets, safe location, 4 bed 3 ba for around $950.

Yet you dont (or VERY rarely) see this in any of the other 49 states forums do you? Probably a great reason for this. People like me who have lived here their entire lives are fed up with what this once great state has become and this is a great place to warn others from out of state its not all sunshine and palm trees here. This state has become a pathetic joke since the late 90s when the state turned blue and the liberal, Democrat communists started to take over.

Except for the period from 1995 to 1996, the Assembly has been in Democratic hands since the 1970 election (even while the governor's office has gone back and forth between Republicans and Democrats). The Senate has been in Democratic hands continuously since 1970.
California State Legislature - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

So, you enjoyed the run of a quarter century of Democratic domination of both state houses until the late 1990's when things suddenly fell to pot, which has absolutely nothing to so with: Prop 13 limiting the state’s ability to raise revenue predictably and the resulting over-reliance on highly variable income taxes finally catching up to budgeting reality; which only increased the state's vulnerability to the state-specific effects of the tech and housing bubbles; the incentivized political obstructionism of an entrenched partisan minority, which cynically manipulated the state's distinction as the only one in the Union requiring super-majorities to both pass budget and raise taxes, becoming a test run for an attempted government shut-down at the national level we are witnessing RIGHT NOW; Federal redistribution of aerospace contracts; the deregulation of the utilities by.... Pete Wilson (R), and by the throwing of gasoline onto the debt via unfunded tax cuts by Sexual Predator (R).

If you lived here all your life, there is no excuse for you not knowing any of the above. Be a failure elsewhere.
