Remember when the haters claimed the state budget wasn't really matter and they kept mumbling that in time we'd all see how fake the balanced budget was? In a way, I guess they were right because the budget isn't balanced and instead is actually in surplus. This is because the economy is doing much better than expected; oh, and it isn't a projection but actual money in the bank. Sorry wingnut haters but you've been proven wrong yet again.

Good news, California: Surplus is $2.4 billion - SFGate

Of course, facts never sway the wingnut and no matter how many times they've been proven wrong they always just come back babbling the same failed nonsense. They do it over and over again.

Yep, the gloom and dommers dominated the forum during the great recession claiming California would become the next Rust Belt, Dust Bowl, Barren Wasteland, blah, blah blah. They claimed to be the true realists and anyone who doubted their dire predictions were out of touch. I called it all BS back then and still do today. California is recovering as it always has in spite of economics ups and downs. It will continue to a great state to live in for millions who are happy to call it home.

I can pretty much write the script for what we are about to receive from the doom and gloomers.

Not a peep on local news broadcasts.

If we were facing a deficit, it would be the top story.

In any event, go California! I read that our surplus will be over $10 billion by 2017 which is pretty awesome!

Shhhhush. The last thing we need are people from the midwest and back east with no job skills, six kids, and three dogs, looking to move to California to drain the state's resources.

Man I hope it rains during the Rose Bowl game.
