If you like the desert it's a wonderful place to live full time. We happen to like the desert. We do, howerever, have a home in Los Angeles as well so we go back and forth during the summer. When my current contract is up we're selling in LA and moving to the desert full time. We plan to spend six weeks during the summer months in Edmonton, Alberta.

My in-laws air condition their garage...no joke. Otherwise, the car would be too hot and unbearable.
No, it's not.

The first date with a 100F average high in Palm Springs is May 31; the last is September 23.

While it will certainly hit 100F now and then before and after those dates, it will also fail to hit 100F after and before those dates, respectively. You obviously don't Palm Springs, but when someone asks questions about it, don't dole out bogus information just because of your own dislikes.

I wouldn't live there. It's very hot in the summer & the wind is ridiculous in the winter. PS used to be the posh spot for Hollywood retirees & wealthy gays but that title is now claimed by Palm Desert.

I'm not doling out "bogus" information. I have been visiting there for ten years and my parent's shop would close every May until October, because in April people were wayyyy too sweaty due to the HEAT to want to try on clothes.

I like Palm Springs, actually. Don't assume, because you know what that makes u.

I'm a young 56 yr old women. Moved to Palm Springs instead of Palm Desert because I like the downtown PS charm. Summers are brutal from June to mid Sept. Everyone leaves in summer except the gays and the grays. South Palm Springs is were you want to live. North end is windy and more crime. I've lived in PS for 3 yrs. I'm either moving to Palm Desert where straight people live or returning to the coast. I knew PS was a highly gay community, but enough already!

I grew up in the area and it was a lot nicer in the early 80's. Now everything that was beautiful has been paved or golfed over.

I wonder how the drought will play out with CWD this year?
