It's hard to take anyone seriously if they pepper their language with "Cali". It just sounds ridiculous.
I think the words "hella" and hecka" can fall in the same category. I would cringe if I ever heard someone 30 or older say those words. I am so glad it never caught on here in Southern California.

I used to work in "the industry" but I try to never use the term with people who are not in "the industry" because it makes you sound like a star F**er.

The favorite joke of women in the industry is, when something goes terribly wrong, to say "Who do I have to F* to get OUT of this business."

Actually ColUmbia is a city in South Carolina. The city of Cali is in the South American country of Colombia. It is a minor difference in spellling and you are certainly not the first person from the USA to make the mistake. Just putting it out there.

I have been to Cali, Colombia. Like Los Angeles it is located in the southwestern portion of the county, has a temperate climate and is bordered on one side by a beautiful set of mountains. Though it is a good 2 hours from the Pacific Coast. Great city and great country to visit.

I goofed that up. BUT, if we are going to prim and proper.....there is no city in Colombia named Cali. Despite what Google maps might tell you, it's official name is Santiago de Cali. Cali is just it's short name, an abbreviation. Who would have imagined that so many people would have a problem saying all syllables of Santiago de Cali and just go with Cali...

Someone sent me this list. I didn't think Bomb, Dank or stoked were slang particular to CA. But perhaps they originated in CA..hard to tell. I also think there are many Californians that wouldn't know these terms depending on age.

One question though...has anyone noticed that "Business Insider" puts out a lot of articles that have nothing to do with Business lol. Anything for pageviews and ad revenue I guess!
