I wonder the same thing, and sadly its part of an overall trend in this country.

Freeway construction does not alleviate traffic long term. Its simply a temporary fix.

And gas prices are not the governor's call to make.

LMAO at you thinking Obama is anything like Jerry Brown LOL the Tea Party had a fit because that's what the tea Party does. They are the alter-ego of organizations like PETA.

Who do I think he would run against? No one because I doubt he will run. Even if he does run the Dems will not give him the nomination. They didn't when he ran before and they were more extreme back then than now. the country is still moderate enough not to elect a Jerry Brown just like they wouldn't elect a Sarah Palin so we can all relax.

You've met a wall. Here are your choices; talk to it, or bang your head on it.

Everything we do or build as a society is temporary, and can only benefit us as much as we are able to assess current demand levels and estimate future ones. I wouldn't have expected governments in the 1950s to build their freeways to accommodate today's traffic demands, that would have been absurd and cost-prohibitive. But of course, they should have been willing to continue to add lanes and freeways as demand increased over the decades. Think of it this way - if I'm a young, single person, I'll do just fine living in a studio apartment. But once I get married and have a few kids, would it still make sense for me to live in that studio? Shouldn't I plan ahead and get a larger residence as my family size grows? Perhaps get a 2 bedroom when I have my first baby, and a 3 bedroom 2 bathroom before my 3rd baby arrives?

They are, in as much as the governor/legislature imposes statewide regulations on gasoline (the blend mixture required to be sold in CA versus what can be sold in other states, the prohibitive regulations on refineries in CA, prohibitive regulations on drilling in CA, etc.), and statewide taxes on gasoline (we pay the highest gas tax in the USA).

Clearly he has little to no control on national oil policy (imports, fracking, etc.), and that was not what I meant about gas prices. I was referring to his (and the legislature's) control over regulations and taxes that affect our price for gas in CA relative to the price for gas in neighboring states.

I generally agree. I wouldn't be surprised to see someone like Christie win in 2016, he's fairly moderate. I certainly don't agree with him on everything, but I'm sure he'd be better than the buffoon we have now.

On the contrary, I'm not a mindless slave to random philosophy. I actually base all my opinions on logic. If someone can demonstrate an error I've made in any of my assessments, I will openly accept it.

Montclair already did. freeway construction is not a long term fix to congestion. Likewise, blaming gas prices on the Governor makes little sense to a normal person.

I know Brown and Obama are different but the tea party clowns only see the D by his name so to them, they're all the same.

Who do you think will run against him for governor of California if he chooses to run for another term?

I'm a staunch conservative Republican and I'd have no problem voting for Jerry Brown. He's the most frugal, conservative Democrat I've ever seen.

Sadly both his age and the Hillary political machine are against him.

Ah, I misunderstood you. Sorry about that.

to be perfectly honest, I'm not really sure who would run against him. Probably someone little known like last time. The GOP has become so marginalized in CA that few people seem to know anything about them these days.
