If he werenít the nationís oldest governor, a ripe 75, Jerry Brown would automatically be counted among serious Democratic candidates for president in 2016.
He boasts a household name, an impressive list of accomplishments in the countryís most populous state ó a state some once deemed ungovernable ó glowing national media coverage and a deep familiarity with the pitfalls and rigors of a White House bid, having run three times before.
Now, some are pushing Brown to consider another try for the White House, even if it means taking on Hillary Rodham Clinton, the prohibitive, if still undeclared, Democratic favorite.

If he were 20 years younger and exhibited the same practical approach to governance he has displayed the last few years, I just might support him.

Hopefully Gavin Newsom is taking notes.

Heaven help us! Governor Moonbeam in the Whitehouse and Gavin Newsom or Antonio Villaraigosa in the governors chair. What a nightmare, let's hope it is just that, a bad dream that will not come true. Please say it ain't so.

At least you'd be able to criticize him without being called sexist....the inevitable accusation against all those who will oppose Hillary.

On a serious note, his age would be an issue. Don't know if it should be though.

As was the case in 2008 with McCain and Palin. Many felt he was too old and would die leaving Palin as president. The right accused those against her as being sexist when that wasn't the reason. She's just a straight up idiot.

I don't think he will run again. He's already tried, I believe twice in the past. It would be interesting though, then both main parties would have extremes running for office. If not Jerry Brown, someone. It would be my fondest wish for someone like him to be elected just to irritate the hell out of the right.

Obama has already done that. Remember back in 2010 when the Tea Party was in full force holding up signs calling him a "socialist" and a "commie"?

Who do you think will run for governor next year? if Jerry runs again, who would he face?

Are we talking about the same guy who implemented a moratorium on freeway construction during his first reign of terror, er, I mean governorship? For the life of me, I can't figure out why people complain about high gas prices and terrible traffic, but continue to vote these morons into office.
