Hi All

This is Nisha and i'm moving to Newark in Jan. I am planning to have an accommodation in Newark or Fremont. Currently i'm looking for an economic one and with easy access to local transport to go to Santa Clara every fortnight.

All sort of pointers are welcome. If someone can guide for cost of living as well will be a bonus for me.

Actually this is my first onsite trip (^_^)...

Cheers !!!
Nisha

Can you just move to Santa Clara? I used to manage an apt bldg in Santa Clara, just retired, but I think the studios are still renting there for about $1100 including utilities. Send me a direct message if you want the manager's contact info.

Another option would be to check the off campus housing options in Santa Clara:

Santa Clara University - Student Life - Off-Campus Housing -Rental Listings

Next option is to check Craigslist or put an ad yourself for what you are looking for:

Fremont and Newark are in the East Bay, and Santa Clara is South Bay. Here's the section for renting rooms:

SF bay area rooms & shares classifieds - craigslist

If you have to move to Fremont/Newark and take public transit to Santa Clara, I think there is a bus you can take. BART does not go between Fremont and San Jose.
