Not exactly…. and it still works well even though Swedish culture has grown even more diverse like ours, not less.

"One of the best ways for a mature economy to rejuvenate itself is to open its borders to upwardly mobile immigrants from poorer countries. Sweden has learned this trick. Walk the streets of any Swedish city and it’s clear that the country is far less homogeneous, much more diverse, than it was just a decade ago. Last year, one of five new businesses was started by immigrants. The newcomers, most of them from the Balkans and Mideast, work hard, make money and harbor grander ambitions for their children."

To answer the OP"

Really, only the barrios will continue to expand in Southern California. Rents are continuing to increase in desirable areas but whites are hanging on because there are so many good paying jobs and opportunity in California versus the rest of the country.

I don't think this demographic reality (and how fast it has arrived) has truly dawned on many Californians yet. If modern American history is any indication, it's going to get ugly real fast.
Sounds like such wishful thinking. Hispanics can't make it in their own countries so they come here, they are almost always impoverished, they often don't speak the language, and come here with no education. Considering whites continue to control a larger and larger percentage of the money in this very expensive state, they should be the ones concerned. There won't be enough subsidies to go around, and not enough people who have taxable income to pay for those subsidies. And don't expect to have a democratic president forever.

Why do you care so much about CA, you live in El Paso? In fact at the rate your own hispanic population is increasing, you should be more worried about TX turning "purple" (and helping to guarantee even more "democratic presidents"…lol)!

If Hispanics become the "majority" it's said they may unite with whites to continue white legacy. Look at what has happened with many White Cubans in Florida.

Blacks also left Detroit in large numbers. Where would White Californians go? New Mexico,Colorado and Washington don't see to want them. Texas has a large Hispanic population so they might not flee there even though thee are jobs and nice oceanfront towns like Rockport which are much cheaper than those in California. Maybe Californians will flee by via the ocean and swim away..
Actually most people are not racist and my guess is everyone will co-exist just fine. Whites left Detroit for many good reasons. Those reasons don't exist in Cal.

White flight is already happening and will probably continue. Washington, Oregon, Nevada, Texas and Colorado have all seen large numbers of Californians coming to their state. Remember Toyota. That's a large number of people moving right there. The exodus, along with many good jobs and businesses will leave. Taxes will have to be raised again on the high income percentage of the population, and more will be driven out leave. Retirees will take their pensions to someplace more affordable. The trend will continue.
