Hey everyone...
Was just wondering if anyone could suggest which airline would be best to travel from SFO to China-Shanghai? Do they allow us to reserve seats as well while making the booking?

Anything besides horrible United.

Air China perhaps, or, Delta.

What's your criteria?

Least time? -- Non-stop would be United.
Best service? -- One stop via Tokyo on ANA or via Hong Kong on Cathay Pacific
Least cost? -- I dunno, check Travelocity or something.

Ive flown nonstop from SFO to Shanghai on United and Air China and I prefer the service and quality of Air China. Another time I flew on Asiana from SFO to Seoul and then changed planes in South Korea and that was okay too.

Thanks...but is United that bad? I am looking mainly for a non-stop flight, also the cost effectiveness. I found out that Asiana doesnt allow to reserve seats while booking. Any ideas on Korean air?

On any international flights there are lots of options for vegan/vegetarian. Call the airlines and they will go over like 20 options with you. You will need to be careful with vegetarian as they have something called "Hindu vegetarian" (probably no meat/eggs/seafood) and regular vegetarian which might include one.

Just FYI, I'm seeing some decent deals right now on China Air. Yeah, I know, need to hub through Taipei, but a deal is a deal. Can drink Taiwan Beer waiting for the final leg of the flight.
