I've had Mexican food in NM and it is ok but definitely nothing to write home about. There is a hell of a lot of fake Tex-Mex mixed in there so, no, it is neither better nor more authentic.

To be fair I was only talking about regional American Mexican food, not authentic Mexican food from Mexico. I'm sure there are a lot of really amazing authentic Mexican places in LA that are mouthwatering.

I only meant the New Mex-Mex is the better than Cali-Mex and Tex Mex

I can't imagine anyone hating InNot. I mean this, I really cant imagine it. I haven't heard many people say that. Some like other burgers, at higher prices better, but hate In&Out; wow. After 30 years I still miss them. So do most of our friends and family who have left CA.

21. You can understand Mexican-American Spanglish but can't understand a word of any other Spanish dialect.

The Spanish thing is so true. My new Spanish professor is from Argentina, and I have to listen more closely because her accent confuses me at times. People also tend to think my accent in Spanish is weird (my dad's family is from Spain).

There are times when Socal's lack of provincialism can be annoying...this is one of those times.

Get this straight: CA produces half the nation's fruits, nut, and vegetables. It is a juggernaut in that category.
