Hello people Im 20 years old, I live in Oxnard California, and I might move to San Antonio because I heard houses are very cheap there compared to where I'm living now.So I just want to know what parts are good parts and bad parts of San Antonio because I already know living in bad parts, pearsonally ,is not safe, so if anyone can just tell me that would be great

You might do better asking on the San Antonio or Texas forum. I hope you like the heat and humidity. Also, keep in mind that although house prices are cheap, property taxes and insurance rates are not.

Hey oxnard, I've spent about 13 years in San Antonio and just moved from there to San Diego earlier this year. The good parts of town that I'm aware of are the northern parts near the edge of the city. There is a lot of development going on in the north-central and northwestern (includes most of the universities and the prestigious South TX Medical Center) parts of the city around Loop 1604. I've heard that downtown is undergoing a revival, and many young people are moving to there. Stay away from the south side; it's the poor and crime-ridden part of town.

If you will be renting the cost is living is dirt cheap compared to cities in CA. I have heard stories of families living decently on a household income of less than $30k/yr. Keep in mind that your salary will likely be lower than that of an equivalent in CA, but there is no state income tax in TX.

Houses are indeed much, much cheaper in SA. My family's 3100 sq ft house in a nice neighborhood recently sold for about $280k. However, as the previous poster mentioned, property taxes are rather high.

You may also want to consider Austin depending on your career.

I hope this helps!
