Can't really be bitter. It's a corporation trying to maximize profits. What is good is that they are intent on building a giant plant anywhere in USA, rather than overseas. Wouldn't want the sort of PR Apple got when reporters found out about those nets around the perimeter of the factory in China .
And the Bay Area and California should be P.O.'d as well. If a texas born and breed company built a plant in California, Texans would be up in arms.

It's 32 jobs. More than anything it's a high visibility marketing tool to lure in more tech to the valley.

28 open postings seems like such a low number given the size of the future facility and its devotion to "manufacturing." But, hey, it's a great start, the Central Valley needs the jobs, and Tesla is a fast-growing company. I hope this all works out to be successful for Tesla and San Joaquin County in the decades to come.

Where's the battle cry for the battery plant and 6,500 jobs in California. Difference between texas and California, Californians are fractured, don't stick together know nothing about their state, bad-mouth other regions of the state.

I don't care where in California, but that battery plant should be built in California - Inland Empire, San Joaquin Valley, South Sacramento, LA, East Bay, North County SD, Orange County.

The existing plant in Fremont (East Bay) was supposed to go to Arz or New Mexico but wasn't; they could do the same for the battery plant.

I think it's great they take all the toxic chemistry to Texas to make batteries.

Nope. They need to figure it out and keep it in state.

Makes you wonder if state regs were a big factor in siting the plant.

Note: Yes, sometimes those darned CA regulations concerning toxic chemicals actuallly do make some sense. We can only hope the 6,500 employees in TX are not subject to too much exposure. We're kind of jittery about that stuff down here in Superfund land.
