The official numbers say 38.3 million residents in CA now but we all know its well over 40 million when you factor in the millions of illegals here. Orange County alone has nearly 4 million people. Thats more than the population of 26 entire states here in the US! It wouldn't be so bad if people were moving to central and northern CA too but they are not. Most are moving into southern California. The traffic is already hell, what happens in another 5 years when there are another 3-4 million people here? There are not nearly enough jobs for everyone. The state is already maxing out the money they give to illegals and people on Welfare. How many is too many? There has to be a breaking point coming and fast.

Move to Wyoming. Smallest population and 2nd to last in population density. No state income tax either.

Gonna ante up, Cowboy?

Sure isnt stopping ppl from coming in anyway. Exorbitant home prices are only near the coast in the Major Metro areas. If you go inland, prices are more reasonable.

Yeah! Because those things have never happened in California before. People just don't know. But they'll pay attention when Mother Nature finally says so.

I mean who in their right mind would rebuild in a fire-or-earthquake-risk zone? Who would move to a place that doesn't have enough water to go around? I mean really.

Population growth in OC as well as statewide has slowed to a trickle in recent years; why the hysteria?

California's population grew a microscopic 3.1% between 2000-2010, so if you're in pursuit of a middle class lifestyle with the ability to buy a home and raise a family, California isn't the place, which isn't a secret either.

Really? Looks like we added nearly 4 MILLION people between 2000-2010, which is millions more than any other state not named Texas. You can throw in another 4-5 million that came here illegally over that time that don't show up on that report for close to 10 million in 10 years. That is no trickle my friend.

Most growth now isn't from people "moving" here... unless you mean them moving down a birth canal.
