Unhappy News, California Man Electrocuted While Hanging Christmas Lights.
EAST PALO ALTO, Calif. — A man decorating a tree outside an apartment complex was electrocuted when a string of Christmas lights touched a high-voltage power line, authorities said.

Wow! This is such sad news during Christmas. His poor family. I got a good shock last year when I accidentally touched a live wire while hanging our icicle lights, and I nearly fell backwards off of our ladder. It wasn't a good experience at all.

This actually happened on the street where I used to live! My mother was just telling me about it at dinner, because she knew it was right on my block... I'm afraid it may have been my old maintenance man (based on other details I heard), who was a very sweet guy.

Edit: Just found the address where it happened, and it wasn't my old complex - still a really sad story.
