We are blessed with many desirable locations in California. An old saying goes, "If you want a change in the weather and scenery, drive 2 hours in any direction." Living in the Sierras near Yosemite, we usually go to the Monterey area for a change in scenery. I was wondering where others like to go when taking a vacation. Please don't say Disneyland.

Within the state, Yosemite, San Luis Obispo/Pismo Beach or San Diego.

I forgot what a vacation was like. Usually Palm Springs, where I grew up.

I also like Morro Bay. We plan to spend a week there this summer. It's a great spot for day trips to Hearst Castle and San Luis Obispo. I guess it's appropriate to say that Morro Bay is where the rocky coastline of Big Sur meets the expansive beaches of Southern California. Great choice!!
