Chloe Dog, have you looked into the Long Beach area? I live in a cute, upscale neighborhood there that is very gay and dog friendly. It's famous for it's dog beach and is probably one of the largest gay/lesbian communities in Southern CA besides West Hollywood/Silverlake. There are a lot of duplexes or back houses here so it's not the typical big apartment complex lifestyle. The rent is higher than inland but reasonable; about 1000-1300 for a 1 bedroom and 1300-2000 for a two bedroom. There are a lot of restaurants and boutique stores, all within walking distance. I believe the website for the city is Belmont Shore Business Association I've lived in several areas of the LA/OC area and this is my favorite.

butrflyl ~ Thanks for the info! I've been scoping out jobs in that area and near San Jose and Ventura. I actually lived in that area when I was young, though I recall very little...lol I also have some relatives still there, so we'll see what appears as far as employment. I'm finding several dog friendly places to live, more that I would have guessed...so that's a plus. I appreciate your response...have a great week!

Have you looked into Russian River area? Just North of SF.

San Francisco or Berkeley area would be good if you can find a yard. It might be tough to find a place with a yard in SF but they are out there, especially in the Sunset area. Although pricey, SF has rent control (perhaps Berkeley as well).

Search Craigslist.

Good luck
