Sigh.
He got very smart after Walt Disney personally stiffed him so he started his own production company as well as the winery.

Sigh.
We met him at a private function in the 1990s. A very gracious man, still enormously good-looking, and wearing his buckskin outfit for the sake of all us baby boomers. That was a memorable day.

Default Bags banned for people only ?

I live in Carpinteria(13,000+ pop.) we have had a plastic bag ban @ the grocery stores since 2012. A city group, Carp Beautiful has just held its first year meeting and stated 600,000 dog **** bags are ready to be distributed to the dispensary boxes thur out the city. Bag theft and abuse are rampant they said. So much for a bag ban….

The ban is on the single use plastic bags that were formerly distributed at check out registers, not the small bags used for produce. The former is the type of bag that is most frequently disposed of improperly. Carpinteria Beautiful - reusable bag program

And 600,000 dog poop (which doesn't include produce) bags for a population of 13,000+. How many state wide produce bags will be used ? my point is the bottom line(below)
from Carpinteria Beautiful….
Why do we feel so strongly about the plastic bag issue?
Carpinteria Salt Marsh The Numbers Tell the Story

In California alone, over 600 plastic bags are used and discarded every second!
Plastic bags do not biodegrade. TThey break up into tiny toxic bits that remain in the environment indefinitely.
Hundreds of thousands of seabirds and sea mammals are dying from ingesting or becoming entangled in discarded plastic.
Whole areas of the ocean have been found to now have more plastic bits than bio-mass (living matter).
Plastic bags are made from petroleum, unnecessarily wasting huge amounts of this increasingly scarce resource.
Plastic bags cost retailers millions of dollars each year, a cost passed on to the consumer.
More millions in tax dollars are spent annually trying to clean up littered bags.
Only 5% of plastic bags are recycled. Those that are put in the waste stream are choking our landfills.

I have absolutely no idea when there are so many other things that pollute this planet. It's a mystery to me.

It's something that people can actually, literally grasp. Most other pollution issues involve complexities beyond what Joe Average can tackle.
