All of that is great and I'm sure Colorado has a lot to offer BUT ...
I notice your pictures don't include the 9 inches or so of snow you guys get every year.
I wonder what those pictures look like ...

Not 9 inches. Closer to 100 inches. Usually melts between events. Not like the upper midwest. Also because we're higher, the snow is dryer almost fluffy. I know it's not for everyone, but I look forward to it.
This picture was taken last Sunday at an area in our neighborhood set aside for sledding. Two of our daughters are there somewhere.

I should've mentioned that Monument is the highest town along the Front Range(CO's population center-FT Collins south to Pueblo). The major cities, like Denver and Colorado Springs get far less annual snowfall.

Born and raised in SoCal (47 years) and moved 3 months ago to MA. I love the 4 seasons and yes that means the snow in the winter but it also means the change of colors in fall, spring time blooms and summer. This year we've had almost 25 inches and that is more than they had here all of last year. So the amount of snow depends on the year. Yes it gets cold, but I still sleep with my bedroom window partially open at night. So the cold isn't and issue for me. I get clear blue skies with snow on the ground and crisp air to breath. I gave up the hour drive to work and the hour and a half drive home on the LA freeways for a 15 minute drive to work and a 15 minute drive home on a beautiful country road. Now yes it snows, but by the time you get out on the roads in the morning they have already been clearing the roads so its an easy drive to work. Oh and I park my vehicle in a parking garage so that I don't have to clear ice from the windows or snow off of it. I do what I need to make things a little easier. But I love looking out my window ... I over look a forest I love watching the birds and squirrels in the trees. When it's not frozen during the winter, there is a creek that runs through the back as well. I must say I don't miss the traffic or the hetic, stressful life in CA, but I do miss my family.
Best to all who live in CA or anywhere across the US ...

robertpolyglot-i moved to Tennessee from San Luis Obispo. Yes, my vacations and long weekends to get me to the waters edge. The edge of any lake in the Ozark and Ouchita Mtns. of Arkansas or the lakes and rivers of the Smokies! I cant think of any reason to go back to California. The hill people of Tenn-Ark-Mizzou-NC WV and KY are down to earth and alot friendlier than i ever found in Cal. The fishing and hunting and outdoor pursuits here are second to none! I am 100% sure I made the right choice!

Exactly. One day it is 22F and snowing and a day or two later it is shorts and t-shirt weather (like yesterday). I still play basketball outside in shorts and t-shirts at lunchtime - in January. Cycling, Tennis, etc are all doable almost all year round.
From a different post:
Yesterday in HB, $429K, 936 sqft ($458 per Sq Ft - INSANE!)

Yesterday in Denver
Today in HB, $434K, 1100 sqft ($395 per Sq Ft)

Today in Denver
Tomorrow in HB, $490K, 1246 sqft ($393 per Sq Ft)

Tomorrow in Denver
