LA native.

Come to think of it, I was always welcoming to transplants who weren't from there, as my parents were from Europe (unlike native Portlanders and Seattleites who don't want others there).

I moved away from LA for grad school and never went back, as my family moved to the Pacific Northwest. So, after LA, I've lived in the Pacific Northwest, Atlanta and Northern California.

I will always think of LA as my home. I've been very influenced by its free-wheeling, in-your-face, irreverent nature. While I love the place, it's too different from the LA of the 70s and 80s. The climate is still fantastic, but other things...not as much. Never say never, but I don't see myself living in LA again. I have no more ties to it.

I was born in San Jose, moved to Modesto when I was 11, then back to the San Leandro and Castro Valley-Oakland area. When I was 26 I moved to Huntsville, Alabama and that is where I am still. (and I am happy)

Moved to Van Nuys when I was 12
Moved to Thousand Oaks when I was 15 & been here ever since (now in my 40s)

My mom was born in West Los Angeles, raised in Culver City and lived there until we moved to Van Nuys.

So my kids are 3rd generation Native Californians. Kinda cool.

Born in Los Banos, California, lived in Dos Palos for 23 years before I moved to Texas. Three years in the long-horn state was more than I could handle, then moved to Oregon.

Oregon has its blessings, but I still want to move back to California. Need more days of sunshine. My family's still there.

I'm from here. My ancestors came here on boats from Europe once upon a time ago, back when we still did that sort of thing.

European immigrants used boats to reach the U.S. into the early 60s.
