Born and raised in Calaveras County too (very weird to have 2 posts on same thread since it's such a small community). Now live in the Central Valley~ yuck! Moving to TN this summer!!! Can't wait to slip back in time and be surrounded by nice folks and beauty.

I was born at the old Saint Johns Hospital in Oxnard, California. My parents bought there home in Port Hueneme, California 6 months after I was born in 1965 for $13,000. I grew up there and left for 2 years to serve a mission for the Mormon Church in Iowa. After returning home I stayed in the area and have lived in Oxnard ever since then. Now after all these years my wife and I are having a home built in Surprise, Arizona and will be leaving next year.

Have also lived in Hermosa Beach, San Jose, and Rohnert Park.
Have been in San Diego since 1985.
When I can retire I'll choose somewhere with more elbow room, this area has taken on the characteristics I dislike about LA and OC.

Born in the back room at Sadlers General store in Bolivar Tennessee. We didnt have a hospital and the widow sadler was the midwife. After Vietnam stayed in San Luis Obispo for 25 years before returning to Tennessee where I could more easily afford to retire

Lived in Ventura County for 28 years, then....
Moved to Texas to retire on a lake.
Been in Texas for a little over 3 years now, but....
Dreaming of the day I can move back to southern California!!!!

Born and raised in Norway of one-half Finnish descent. U.S.: lived in New York and Los Angeles, plus Shasta, Santa Barbara and Ventura counties (CA). Visited 44 U.S. states, portions of Canada and Central America. ATM entertaining a preliminary idea of extended travel to South America with outside thoughts of relocation/retirement somewhere in Latin America. We'll see.
