Big moves are taking place in High Tech. The cost of doing business in Silicon Valley is starting to effect growth and forcing companies to look elsewhere to generate business in high tech.

I remember reading articles like this in the late '90s, except they were trying to pitch the phrase "Digital Coast" at the time.

For example:

Jobs may be moving, but innovations won't be. Too much money to be made in SV, especially when places like Stanford churn out dream job candidates that want to stay put.

We'll see how this develops. Southern California, generally speaking, does not have the ecosystem of engineers, VC's that SV does.

Well, not quite. There are many, many Engs there. A good many of them have an aerospace pedigree. Some of the current tech firms may not appreciate that. Perhaps the Engs are not all into Java or Web Sockets. However, they can write lean and mean code in C++ or even something more hard core. And they actually can deal with hardware too!

As long as people leave, I'm happy. Wherever they go don't matter. Just go away
